About

About

The Mack semi-truck company was started by the Mack brothers in Brooklyn, NY, in 1900. Mack is now a US subsidiary of the AB Volvo Group.

Here’s a closer look at Mack:

Manufacturing

Mack trucks made for the North American market are built in the United States. Heavy-duty class 8 Mack trucks are assembled in Macungie, PA, at the Lehigh Valley Operations facility. Class 7 and 6 Mack trucks are built in Roanoke, VA, and engines, transmissions, and rear axles are manufactured at the Mack powertrain facility in Hagerstown, MD.

Power

Mack trucks are known for their heavy build and powerful engines. Their engines range from 325 hp to 605 hp and can produce a whopping 2,060 lb-ft. of torque, making them some of the strongest trucks on the market. If you’re looking for a truck to haul or tow heavy loads, Mack is an excellent choice.

Fuel Consumption & Efficiency

Mack makes some of the most efficient semi-truck engines in the industry. Their unique wave piston design can boost your fuel economy by anywhere from 2.5 to 5%, which adds up to significant savings over time. In addition, the available MP8 HE engine captures lost energy and converts it back to power to further reduce fuel consumption.
